Smiths Plastics (PTY) Ltd, a subsidiary of Metair Investments Limited, has produced plastic injection moulded parts since 1977.
Nearly a million plastic components are produced each month. Plastic products range from delicately balanced air conditioning rotors to large, complex, thin-walled mouldings and aesthetic parts, such as plastic large door panels, glove compartments, centre consoles, engine cam covers and many more.

Smiths Plastics (PTY) Ltd has in excess of 70 moulding machines ranging from 50 to 2500 tonnes of clamping pressure.

Smiths Plastics (PTY) Ltd is a manufacturing operation specializing in high quality technical plastic injection moulding and ancillary operation for the Motor Industry and OEMs

Painted Plastics

Smiths Plastics (PTY) Ltd run two highly technical painting plants, where plastic components such as door handles, trims and grilles are painted and matched to vehicle colour

Chrome Plated Plastics

Smiths Plastics (PTY) Ltd run an automated plating plant to deposit microporous chrome onto plastic trim components such as door handles, grilles and mirror covers

We are a manufacturer of automotive interior, exterior trim plastic components and engine components specialising in the following technology: Colour match painting, Chrome plating, Vibration welding, Hot plate welding, Spin welding and Assembly.
